Ah the old, designed by the Japanese but manufactured by the Chinese problem. Who do you praise for the craftsmanship?

Well my ipod is American, my phone is Korean, my video games systems are all Japanese, and my under wear is Bangladesh. I don't know what that means, but it means something!

I love lots of things in Chinese culture but yea unfortunately alot of their mass produced stuff is crap. When it comes to mass produced Asian products especially electronics, I stick with Japanese or Korean.

My father works for a major US manufacturer in the mold division (mold as in 'to form' not the organism) and the company a few years ago outsourced some of their production to China in order to save money...in theory. However, each and every time the products are shipped back to him, he and his crew has to spend time modifying them because some of the edges are off, or parts are jagged & malformed. When you add up the shipping costs, and man hours spent needed to fix the products you realize that it made more sense to keep the work in state. Sorry for the rant. Just got me thinking.

No it's true. And you need to be careful too. Those letters probably contain large traces of lead. (side note, I'm Chinese)
